Effortless Mountain Home Refreshes.

Maximize IMPACT, Minimize Hassle.

Your mountain home should feel like a retreat, not a project. We provide thoughtful design updates, curated furnishings, and high-impact improvements to help buyers, sellers, and realtors transform outdated mountain homes into modern, cozy retreats — without the cost or long timelines of a full remodel or traditional interior design service.

Blue Canoe helps busy homeowners, sellers, and realtors refresh mountain homes with strategic, high-impact updates. We live and invest in the mountains, so we get it—your home should be both a wise investment and a place that feeds your soul.

Our Services

We’re mountain home experts who blend smart design with hands-on experience.

Do Any of these sound like you?

Live far away? Managing renovations and furnishing from a distance is overwhelming.

Don’t want a full interior designer—but you also don’t want to DIY? You need a simple, expert-led approach to create a stylish, cohesive home.

Just bought a home? After closing costs, a full remodel isn’t in the budget—but you still want it to feel finished.

Home feels outdated? Many mountain homes have dark, dated interiors. You want light, airy, and modern—without losing the cozy mountain vibe.

Want a home with personality, not a big-box catalog look? Big-box furniture won’t cut it. You want quality, sustainable pieces that feel intentional.

At Blue Canoe, we take homes from empty or outdated to stylish and livable. Whether you need a quick refresh or a fully curated, one-of-a-kind home, we handle design, furnishings, and light remodels—so you don’t have to.

"Alejandro led the process from mood board all the way to finished product. He worked quickly to update my unit with modern amenities while sourcing one-of-a-kind pieces that work so well together. I now have a timeless space that is fully me.”

    Craig F. | Homeowner

  • Seller

"Ale's attention to detail and understanding of what small changes make an impact helped to refresh my space. I wasn't interested in doing a big overhaul, just wanted to make small updates that made people look at my home and go "wow". He helped me achieve this without worrying about going over budget."

    Sarah B. | Homeowner

  • Realtor

“Ale is INCREDIBLE! I was blown away at his communication, work ethic, design eye, and integrity. I work as a realtor and am often referring contacts to clients for projects. I have found it to be extremely rare to meet a contractor who has both skill and character. It's even more rare to find one who has an eye for design. Ale has all of these qualities!! He is a hidden gem and I am so grateful to know him."

The man with the PADDLE

Hey, I’m ale.

At Blue Canoe, we blend nature and nostalgia—where the raw beauty of the mountains meets intentional, soulful design. Think warm textures, natural materials, and handcrafted details that feel timeless, not trendy.

With years of hands-on experience remodeling my own homes and countless client spaces, I know how to maximize impact without overspending—all while trying to leave a small footprint for good ol’ Mother Earth.

Now based in Fairplay with my wife Annie and our pup, we bring that passion to every project, helping others create beautiful, functional, and meaningful mountain homes—spaces that aren’t just live-in ready, but ready to be truly lived in.

Why Blue Canoe Design?

Blue Canoe was born from a feeling—the calm, effortless connection of floating on the water, surrounded by nature. As a kid, Ale found beauty in the ripples against his canoe, a daily reminder to slow down and appreciate his surroundings.

That same feeling guides Blue Canoe Design today—where craftsmanship meets connection. We create spaces that feel intentional, grounded, and deeply tied to both people and place.
